Theater Etiquette Tips

Not sure what to do when you visit the theater, whether it's the neighborhood movie theater or the ballet instead? I used to feel anxious and uncomfortable in these performing arts venues, but now I'm a confident theater goer that always knows what to do. Since theater etiquette is a topic rarely discussed today, I figured it'd be helpful to start a website educating others on what I've discovered through research and experience combined. Let me guide you through the world of cinema, live plays, and other theater performances so you know the differences between a musical and a silent art piece.

2 Ways To Make Your Videos Look And Sound Better

Blog

Video editing software is cheaper and easier to use than every before. Anybody with the right software and an eye for editing can create videos. This also means that the internet is packed full of poorly edited videos. Often the content is engaging, but the editing makes it nearly unwatchable. If you want people to sit your entire video, you need to make sure it is visually and audibly pleasing. Whether you are editing family home videos or professional productions, you can probably make your videos a little better if you follow these tips. Here are three basic video editing tips to make your edits look and sound better.

Sound Mixing

Mixing the sound is important no matter what type of video you are editing. It is particular important if you have multiple audio tracks. For instance, you might have music playing over video clips that also have sound. Mixing these multiple tracks is essential. If you just drag the clips into the timeline and rearrange them without adjusting the audio levels, it is not going to sound good once it is exported.

The key to good sound mixing is to adjust each individual clip. That is, don't just automatically adjust to a certain level. You need to listen to the clip and think about how is transitions from the clip that preceded it and the clip that follows it. This transition needs to be as seamless as possible. You don't want any sudden volume jumps or shifts. You don't want to jar or confuse your watchers. You also don't want to drown out the music.

Color Correction

Correcting the color of your clips might seem like and advanced skill, but modern software makes it easier than ever. Furthermore, color correction can give your videos a stronger sense of cohesion. This is particularly important if you used multiple cameras to shoot your video, or if the shooting took place over several days. Different lighting among clip can effect the white balance and hues in your shots. So, even if you are shooting the exact same subject, they could look different from day to day, especially if the footage was shot outside. You can easily adjust colors using color corrections plugins that are built in to most editing software.

These masks are easy to apply and customize. This allows you to put your own mark on your video by adjusting the colors exactly how you want. There are no rules, but the colors will look better if they are uniform throughout the entire video.
